WCC is now an Amazon Smile partner. Use this link (http://smile.amazon.com/ch/95-4117747) to do all of your shopping on Amazon.com and Amazon will donate .5% back to WCC! It’s as easy as that, with no extra fees! Help WCC by getting the word out about this to your friends, family, and social networks.

Do a Drive! Another exciting way to support the children and families served by WCC is to host a supply drive. Round up a group of your friends, classmates, or colleagues and start a drive to benefit WCC. All you have to do is decide on what to collect (diapers, art supplies, books, etc.), reach out to your community, and gather those items. Once you have items to distribute, please contact Rebecca Roffman at volunteers@westsidechildrens.org to coordinate your delivery. If you have questions about what to collect, please email us!

Purchase a gift card at Ralphs or Target in the amount of $15-$25. Our families face hardships all year round, so we like to be able to provide a little extra help in times of need. If you would like support programs at WCC, you can purchase gift cards at Home Depot or Staples.

Donate to WCC! Private fundraising is critical to ensuring WCC can carry out our commitment to going above and beyond for the thousands of at-risk children and families we serve each year. Click Donate Now on the home page to find out more about how your donation can ensure bright futures. You can also make a check out to Westside Children s Center (5721 W. Slauson Ave., Suite 140, Culver City, CA 90230). You’ll be glad you did!

 WCC Volunteer Opportunities

Please contact Rebecca Roffman at volunteers@westsidechildrens.org for questions or more information.

*Because of an increase in interest in our volunteer program it may take a few days for us to get back to you, we will definitely reply and are so excited to help you join our amazing team of volunteers. THANK YOU EVERYONE!

Thank you so much for your interest in the Westside Children’s Center Volunteer Program! Please see below for details regarding the requirements for volunteering and descriptions of the many different opportunities available to get involved.

Please note that we require all interested volunteers to attend a volunteer orientation session at our Early Education Center at 12120 Wagner Street, Culver City, CA 90230. Orientations are held approximately once a month and provide information about WCC’s services, available volunteer opportunities, as well as a review of all the necessary paperwork and information regarding the volunteer program. RSVPs are required; please email volunteers@westsidechildrens.org if you would like to attend.

OUR NEXT VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION IS:

Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 5:30pm – 6:30pm

HOW YOU COULD HELP AS A WCC VOLUNTEER:

Administrative Volunteer or Intern (Age: 12+): Provide administrative support to our staff by assisting with clerical work, development projects and other administrative tasks at either our Early Education Center (Wagner Street) or in our administrative offices (W. Slauson Avenue). Gain great experience and insight into the non-profit world. Bilingual volunteers are especially needed!

Garden Volunteer (Age: 12+; 12 – 17 years old must have a chaperone present): WCC is looking for volunteers to help provide guidance, knowledge and general support for our growing garden. Help keep WCC’s garden looking beautiful. Great for volunteers who don’t mind getting their hands dirty! Hours are also flexible and weekend opportunities available for groups.

STEM Garden Support (Age: 12+; 12 – 17 years old must have a chaperone present): We are looking for volunteers who are excited to add their touch to our STEM Garden. Hours are flexible and projects vary depending on the current needs of programming. Weekend opportunities are available for groups.

Playground Beautification Volunteer (18+ ONLY): Volunteer afterhours in the WCC Center Playgrounds. You’ll be helping to sanitize toys and equipment and generally reorganize the areas as needed. If you would like to have some productive outdoor time with flexible hours this is for you! Weekend opportunities are available for groups.

The following volunteer opportunities have specific requirements and space is limited – read on for more details…

Toddler / Pre-school Classroom Helper (Age: 12+): Support our early education team in the classroom by interacting with children (3 months to 5 years) by reading, helping prepare activities, cleaning and sanitizing toys, and supporting teachers with whatever is needed to help provide each child with the support and understanding they deserve. Volunteers must have availability on weekdays between 9am-12pm and 2:45pm-4:45pm and commit to a minimum of 4 weeks. This consistency in the classrooms is paramount for creating an environment of trust for children.

Lunch Time Volunteer (Age: 12+): Support our early education team by volunteering to help distribute lunches to the classrooms during the school day. Volunteers must be available from 11:45am – 12:30pm, we ask that you commit to coming in at least 1 time per week for 4 weeks.
